    actually that is incorrect...if the screen is BLUE, then there is a connection issue from the LCD to the motherboard most likely, but could still be a bad lcd. You still will have to take it off to try to repair. There are 3 items that are part of a cell phone screen...the glass, the digitizer (the part that registers your touch) and the LCD itself.

    Replacing the 5C is actually not bad at all....here is a video for you

    I believe the screen comes as a one piece replacement...meaning the glass, digitizer and lcd but do not quote me on that.This one is not that hard to do all in all...unlike the ones where you have to free the GLUED glass from the screen.

    Find out what carrier from your sister...check ebay for cracked version of that phone vs just used ones to decide if you should replace or not. Either replace yourself or get it done if reasonable if it is worth more....get the phone unlocked if you can with the carrier and have her take it off icloud lock....then sell for $$$...hopefully it is a GSM carrier like ATT and if unlokced should be worth a reasonable amount of $$$.
