If you want a vision of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face - forever.

there are "safety" toes available from various brands that are made from various plastic composites. sometimes you can get someting like a hiking shoe with this toe. lighter weight with some ankle support. They don't seem to last as long as the heavy leather boots though.
Currently looking for a job in or related to scrap/recycling. Relocation is possible for the right offer.

I bought a pair of Carolina steel toe boots about two months ago. First pair I have bought in about 20 years. I wear them about 5 days a week and, except for a few small scuffs, they look brand new.

Thanks Matt. I'll locate some and try them to see how feel. Awesome info.

“Alright you Primitive Screwheads, listen up! You see this? This... is my boomstick! The twelve-gauge double-barreled Remington. S-Mart's top of the line. You can find this in the sporting goods department. That's right, this sweet baby was made in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Retails for about a hundred and nine, ninety five. It's got a walnut stock, cobalt blue steel, and a hair trigger. That's right. Shop smart. Shop S-Mart. You got that?
