I just completed my first selling of escrap. From all the comments and post on the boards I was trying to choose between easy and ewasted. I went with ewasted due to lower shipping cost for me. This was me paying the shipping and not them. I can say ewasted answered all of my PMs and emails quickly and with no sarcasm in the replies. I know some of my questions were very noobish. I sent in a 31lbs box, with a mix load of mother boards, RAM, finger boards, and cell phones. The received my package, processed it, and cut a check on the 25th. The money came in the mail yesterday. So made $147.26 minus the 19.98 it cost me to ship is still $127. This shipment didn't inclue the CPUs, CD roms, or power supplies. Trying to figure out best way to sell that stuff since none of the local yards will buy it.

Thanks eWasted - I'll be hitting you up again to price some pay phone boards I have.

CPUs will be bought by the buyers here. Power supplies you need to educate your local scrap buyers on. CD Roms has a buyer here as well for the right ones, otherwise remove the boards and add to yout motherboard stash, and throw the carcass in to your shred pile for the steel yard.

Yes boards from cd/dvd are mixed mobo grade. But check with Ewasted to be sure. He mentioned something about tweaking the price on them./

i got a question i do not think has been asked yet, on motherboards a dual socket server motherboard is worth more than a standard motherboard of the same style, but what about the "transition" boards from the Pentium 3 era that had a slot CPU socket as well as a standard PGA370 socket, would that qualify as a dual socket motherboard as well?

Question about selling finger boards (pc cards and such) to you ewasted. Other buyers say it's ok to leave the metal brackets attached and still get the price per lb. Do you have the same policy? How about things like heat sinks/on-board fans on things like video cards - ok to keep on? Also, if it is ok to keep these things on, would you give a better price per lb for taking all of the metal off and having clean finger boards?

    EDIT: Added this:
Also, what do you consider CD-ROM boards? Mixed motherboards?

I delivered a small load to Ewasted on a Sat. and he took time from his "house painting" at home to come down to the office and check my stuff out and cut me a check. I am totally happy with the service and the prices.

Wish I lived nearby. Would make things easier!

I shipped 60 lbs of HD boards, gold fingers, and memory last Friday. I used the FedEx return label from Ewasted's site (which came in at around $33 vs $48 if I sent through FedEx). The package arrived on Tuesday, processed it by Wednesday, check was cut Thursday afternoon. I sent Ewasted a pm about an issue of quoted vs paid price on the gold fingers (difference was $3). He called me Friday morning and said the paper check was going out at 9am, but asked if I wanted to do an ACH direct deposit to my account and he would add the $3 to it. I should have said yes not for the $3 but because the check is going to a PO box about 100 miles away near my fiancee and I won't get it until next Friday.

Anyway, so far the process has been a great experience. Always best when I have the $$$ in hand. I will definitely use Ewasted for most of my escrap.
