Well I just logged back onto ebay for the first time in a while to sell some stuff I have. It seems like all the bidders have 0 feedback and the accounts are either created in the last 30 days or even were created today. What are my options if they end up winning the auction? I dont feel like getting scammed through paypal.
Is this normal or should I be worried?
You can set the auctions up with restrictions like U.S. only, feedback rating of 2-5 or better, and other things. Those are for your protection.Quote:

it should still be possible to end it early due to it getting ran over by a freight train or something, then quetly change your settings and relist the "other" one you found ; ) It might be best, if you're that worried, to eat a single set-up fee, than the whole enchilada

I had freight trains run over my stuff a lot back in the day. Just couldn't see letting something with $200 in value go when the bids were only up to five bucks. If the rules are still the same you can cncl up to 24 hours before th end of the auction.

eBay now charges a Final Value Fee on auctions that are ended early that had bids based on the highest bid the item received
You can only block people that have negative feedback, 0 or higher you have to let them bid. US only is another good one. Also you can require immediate payment if the item is fixed price or for a buy it now. I have a premier level ebay store and am a silver level powerseller. Its $50 a month for my store and 5 cents per listing. I have about 600 listings up right now. Total overhead $80 a month for 600 items. But since your starting out id go with the auctions, you get 50 free auctions per month. You only pay fees if it sells.
Now that the fee structure has changed do free shipping on 90% of the items i sell. The way i look at it is your gonna pay the fees reguardless now so just bury all of the fees in the price of the item. All of my items are fixed price with the make offer option.

I do very good with resale items found in scrap, also car parts are very lucrative . Last week i had about $1000 in sales of parts. Right now im parting out a 2002 concorde lxi, this is just one example but the chrome interior door handles with woodgrain trim are going for $80-$100 each and there are 4 of them in the car. That is just 1 part of the car, on my takeoff/estimate of the parts that i do before i bought the car says i will make in the $4000-$5000 range for all of the parts on that car. After shipping, fees, costs and overhead im looking at making a $2500 profit on the car.
On the wheels / tires. If the tires are bald/bad and are on alloys i send them to my local tire guy, he breaks them down for me and disposes of the tire for $7 each. So after my costs scrapping those oud id only make $8-$10 each, so i resell them to local buyers and on ebay. You need to check the design/size of the alloy wheels, some of them are very pricey. Ive seen factory alloys go for $30-$200 each on ebay so your mileage will vary. 16"-18" usually go for about $100 each, 20"+ go for about $150. I have a pile of about 20 15" rims im having a hard time selling even at $40 each.

even so id still have to pay $3 each in disposal fees, id rather pay someone else $7 and let them do all the work and dispose of the tires, i usually give him the spare tires i have on hand and he lowers his price to $5 for each breakdown/disposal that way we both winQuote:

I started to do the same thing untill I called ebay and asked what happens if they open a case and want to return the item. You have to refund the full ammount they paid. IF you dont do free shipping you only have to refund the bid ammount not the shipping ammount. So be carefull on doing free shipping stuff.Quote:
