I have had little to no problems
I sell on several ID's
Stuff that I would get about 10 Cents a pound for if I bring it across the scale still on the car
Easy to pull, Easy to store, Easy to ship items off the cars I scrap
Power side mirrors, Headlight assemblies, Tail Light assemblies, window motors, dash clusters and sometimes climate control units and cup holders.

I have also been doing well with rims, scrap about $15.00 scale,
I list on eBay for over a hundred with FREE shipping, $18.00 in fees, $45.00 max ship >> still leaves me 35 or more if they live closer then Ca

I do very good with resale items found in scrap, also car parts are very lucrative . Last week i had about $1000 in sales of parts. Right now im parting out a 2002 concorde lxi, this is just one example but the chrome interior door handles with woodgrain trim are going for $80-$100 each and there are 4 of them in the car. That is just 1 part of the car, on my takeoff/estimate of the parts that i do before i bought the car says i will make in the $4000-$5000 range for all of the parts on that car. After shipping, fees, costs and overhead im looking at making a $2500 profit on the car.

On the wheels / tires. If the tires are bald/bad and are on alloys i send them to my local tire guy, he breaks them down for me and disposes of the tire for $7 each. So after my costs scrapping those oud id only make $8-$10 each, so i resell them to local buyers and on ebay. You need to check the design/size of the alloy wheels, some of them are very pricey. Ive seen factory alloys go for $30-$200 each on ebay so your mileage will vary. 16"-18" usually go for about $100 each, 20"+ go for about $150. I have a pile of about 20 15" rims im having a hard time selling even at $40 each.

You might look into picking up a used rim clamp mach from Craig
I picked mine up years ago for a couple hundred and it has more then paid for itself

Tires with good tread I sell on Craigs
Rims I sell on eBay I pull the tires to reduce the shipping cost
I don't try to sell sets, I market towards the guy that just hit the pot hole and needs one rim

even so id still have to pay $3 each in disposal fees, id rather pay someone else $7 and let them do all the work and dispose of the tires, i usually give him the spare tires i have on hand and he lowers his price to $5 for each breakdown/disposal that way we both win

Looking at the free section on craigslist i see alot of listings of people trying to give away junk tires so that tells me there hard to get rid of.

My yard pays: CARS WITH TIRES (5 MAX) $205 PER TON, CARS NO TIRES $210 PER TON so yes the rules are different here. I guess its not really a deduction though because of the added weight, i just like the $210 number better and can move 90% of the wheels/tires i get in other ways than selling as shred. The only combo id sell as shred is bald/bad tires on steel wheels, i havnt run into many of those yet.
