Wire strippers

Anyone had any experience with this machine? Am seriously considering it. Have younger children and wife is on my case about spending too much time stripping wire. Would probably be something safe enough that the kids could help me with. I do scrapping on a casual basis and hope to encourage the kids to help by using the money towards doing fun stuff and vacations. It's a little pricey but I think it might be worth it. Also thinking about asking my electrician how his business handles all their scrap wire.

I've been researching the forum for recc's on a wire stripper, and this is the model I am leaning towards. I would prefer a stripper that uses regular utility knife blades, but I have yet to see a decent looking model that does.

Does anyone on here have this one? How do you like it? My main goal is stripping CRT degaussing cables more quickly, as well as thicker guage wire. I don't intend to strip anything smaller than about your average lampcord.

I just got that exact (well, almost exact) unit a couple weeks ago mainly for degausing wire. Love it.

Yeah, I couldn't get that guy to respond about getting replacement blades. Most likely they're fairly interchangeable, but I'm an impatient type, LOL.
I went ahead & ordered the one I linked and a set of extra blades. No more throwing away money taking in thick insulated wire.

Just wanted to post an update. I got the WL100 stripper I linked earlier in this thread, and I have to say I have one regret about it: That I didn't buy one MONTHS ago!!!

I tore through a whole tub of degaussing cables in a fraction of the time it was taking trying to cut the tape with a utility knife, plus not having to hunch over & contort to get my cutting angle just right.

I haven't yet worked out the bugs on actual wire stripping... I have a huge tub packed full of various guages to work on tonight, but all in all this was money well spent. Only had it 2 days & I'd say it's paid for itself already in terms of time saved... by bedtime tonight it'll have paid for itself in terms of value added by stripping wire I was only getting pennies on the dollar for unstripped.
