To answer one question invites other questions as far as doing it yourself.  If you enjoy this type of work, can make a little cash, and learn something, in my mind yes.  I would not use a torch on the aluminum (as it will just melt it) but a torch for the frame would be advantageous.  As far as the type of torch, either one for acetylene or propane based on personal preference. I would recommend a quickie saw (demo saw and some call it a construction saw) with a metal cutting blade for the aluminum.  Some cut use a grinder with a cutting blade, it just takes a little longer.  Using a saw zaw would be expensive in the cost of blades.  Good thing about aluminum, it does not spark so you can cut without fear of fire.
