    Kegs are Stainless Steel, otherwise, if they were Aluminum they would "flavor" the beer.

    What a lot of people used to do is get a keg of bear, pay the deposit but never return the keg because the scrap value was worth more than the deposit left on the keg.



    Also, people cut them in half and use them for BBQs, deep fryers for turkeys and even gas tanks for drag cars. Because they are made out of Stainless Steel, there are many things they can be used for.
