    Huh? These are your standard 15.5 gallon beer keg that you would tap. It looks like stainless. I could be wrong. But I don't see what the big deal is. The guy who has them says he bought them at a store where they sell kegs to brew your own beer. And was like 10+ years ago. He said guys are always buying and selling and trading kegs to use for their beer making... Legally



    And the metal block does have welds around it in some places. Any surefire way to tell what it is? Thanks

    Due to new laws, even if they are old ones, the yard you use might not buy them because they don't know the difference. All they know is that its illegal to buy them from people unless they have a receipt.

    There are some disturbers of secondhand kegs, The name of the brewery will be mechanically stamped out not ground off or distorted in a way that looks second rate.

    If they have a brewers name on them they belong to that brewer. unless the brewer in no longer in business.

    Just because the brew-store sells kegs dose not mean they do it legally. I know of one around me that you can buy everything to make your keggel and your mash tun and you can get the keg from them too.
