A Quote from The EPA Site concerning Used, Broken CRTs:

Used, broken CRTs are not regulated as hazardous waste as long as the following conditions
are met:

1:CRT containers are clearly labeled regarding contents; (Mine are labeled, though probably not clearly enough, I shall remedy this.)
2:CRTs are safely transported in containers designed to minimize releases; ( Mine are. 1 - 55 gallon steel drum, that is air tight and water proof, it is also sitting off the ground on a treated wooden pallet)
3:CRTs are stored in a building or container designed to minimize releases; and
CRTs are stored on site less than one year before recycling them. (The drum has been full for only about 2 months. Hopefully I can find a way to deal with this in the next 10 months)

I added the numbers before each rule-condition for ease of reading.

I am not condoning this type of action,I only stated how I do it.
