Can any one help me with the difference between black cast and regular cast iron. Noticed black cast was at 1.70 a pound. Might have a concetion to buy a couple completely striped cracked cat blocks. They've even been through the Sault tank and are clean.

Haven't had much luck on Google mostly pots and pan and maker markings haven't found anything about engine blocks yet. Thanks for the help
