msmoorad, You'll have to generate a whole lot more to make it worthwhile, what you have there would not pay the shipping.

it sucks when the few guys in the country doing ewaste pay less than half of what u guys get in that part of the world

Man that's brutal , I just sent 99lbs for $86 . If I were you I would only ship ram,CPUs and fears drive boards . Sell anything else locally to help pay the shipping. . Just my 2 cents

If you a sending by fed ex, keep your boxes under 75 pounds. That is the magic number where cost changes dramatically

70 Pounds seems to be the magic number for me, unless something changed.

Could be! I always thought it was 75. To be safe, keep your boxes below 70 pounds. Above that and FedEx seems to have higher rates.

Ewasted, have you brought any ewaste from NewZealand before?

Msmoorad sorta got the same probem that we have here, it just costs too much to ship it anywhere.

However, I have talked to a guy in the scrapmetal business. Part of what he does is to send shipping containers full of engines and other car parts to the USA
Because there's always a little bit of space in the roof/top of the shipping container, he can squeeze in lowheight pallets of stuff.
When the shipping container gets to America, they unload the pallets of ewaste and send them onwards.

Well, this is the theory, I'm not sure if he's actually done it yet. I just talked to a worker there about it.
I have over a full size pallet so far. And our local ewaste collector just went bust.......
.I know one of the subcrontractors/collectors, he's got pallets and pallets of CRT tvs all ready to go...
Now he just got a CRT problem.... The goverments expected to step in and figure out a way of dealing with the CRTs.

But, he also has computers, he and I have talked about him scraping them down himself and us 2 combining a load of ewaste to the US of A thru the scrapmetal dealer.
I can show him how to do it, or buy them off him.

I will get more details from the scrapdealer, who I have not sold to yet. I expect its going to be about 3 pallets of very clean and well sorted escrap.

RevenantDusk...I don't think they buy CD/DVDs just the circuit boards from the drives and the drives themselves. You can email them with items you have for sale that are not on the list at info@cashforcomputerscrap.com

Oh, you're right then. I hadn't seen that one and it sure isn't on their price lists. Good catch there. It would take a lot of them to make the 10,000 lb required weight.

The other pawn shop on my sandbar will buy them. He doesn't pay much but he'll buy them. He has a machine that fixes them. I dunno the details an only know what I know cause I asked how he was able to sell movies an games so cheap.

So there is a market for the used ones. I know when I was AZ they had a place called bookmans that would give you like.. .50 per cd as in store credit, if you took cash it was like .25 or .10 per.

    I'd rather deal with Mario personally, but i don't have a tractor trailer's worth..lol.

    Sirscrapalot - Likes using CD/DVDs as frisbee's.

I have a couple of games that are totally unplayable or the disc is glitched, so I figured if he pays for them Id just send em in with my next box of ewaste.

Rev I got a reply for ya, but i don't want to add any more to E's thread. Tough on the folks looking for buyer info. Will post my reply in the CD/DVD thread you posted earlier.

To ewasted an his crew..Sorry the addition to your thread. Sucker is long enough without us all bantering in it.

@EWasted: I think I am doing something wrong on the site. I cannot figure out how to get the prepaid shipping label. I think I've requested it correctly, but it hasn't shown up. Any thoughts?

Never Mind: It was hiding in the Spam folder. How do I send another box? I finished one while my quote was in limbo.

    Thanks!

You will have to sign up for another box (label) as that shipping label you have now was based on the weight you told them.

Just wanted to give a quick review for Ewasted. Great Company! My shipment arrived on a Friday morning, was processed by the following Wednesday and I was payed on a Thursday, so just under a week turnaround for my order. Payment was right around what I had calculated. I also really like the customer service chat they were quickly able to answer my questions/resolve a small issue. I will be sending more stuff there way!
