Wasn't hurting my load times or reading ability but was kinda annoying to see it at the top of threads an on the "what's new" page.

It was briefly. You wouldn't believe how much code and tinkering it takes to make the simplest of things show up in the correct places and display to the correct users with the correct content. Besides making sure stuff works in general - Just getting things to show up (or not show up) where I want is a task in itself

But, we're always trying to improve where we can so feedback is always welcome. And I'm glad you like it!
PS - By default, it shows images you include in your threads, so threads with pictures (either as attachments or otherwise) will look better in the new slider.
