Just shipped a load to my buyer that's only 300 miles away. Went fedex ground. I was a little surprised as to how the shipping costs broke down. Here's what I have:
28 lb box = $23.86 = .85/lb
35 lb box = $26.29 = .75 / lb
61 lb box = $33.49 = .55 / lb
66 lb box = $34.89 = .52 / lb
So, what I see here is the heaver the box the better, up to the 75 lb fedex limit. Interesting. I should have combined my little 2 boxes into one big box and saved around $15 in shipping.
