If the sellers are squirrelly get possession of it ASAP. Cherry picking up front is great but large lots with an agreed upon price tends to shrink if not moved quickly. Locks help honest people from becoming thieves, fast possession helps keep honest sellers from becoming thieves.

Agreed. Set price and move the product. At least take pictures of what was agreed on. I learned that lesson early when I bought a pile of car parts. Made a down payment and took a two weeks getting everything moved out. Half way into it, went to pay the rest. Owner claimed we'd agreed on more although he didn't specify what amount. Then piles started shrinking. Fortunately, I'd taken pictures of what I'd bought. Probably the only really bad experience I've had over the years.
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.

It is simply a per lb deal. He said a could take what i want and leave what i dont. It doesnt matter to him as im paying him what he would get from his buyer.

Sounds like a really good deal that way, I don't see a downside to it.

The cases of towers are made of steel, not alum. In fact, I can't think of too many consumer products in the pic's that would have an alum. case.

Hmmm. He bought all of the equipment as aluminum breakage so i was assuming that the cases where aluminum. He even said that today when we talked. Well crap, i hope your wrong mechanic but that usually aint the case. I was planning and making my money back with just the cases. that wont happen if they are steel. Oh well i know for sure tomorrow.

Alot of the network switches and smaller servers will be alluminum cases. Check every single one of them with a magnet. One network switch I did had 15 pounds of boards in it and the whole case was alluminum. Came out to be about 30 pounds of clean sheet when I was done with it. Some of your better home computer cases are alluminum as well.

Take your handy magnet with you, but still it would be a win-win situation. I don't see a downside to it.
