Thanks Dee! I, for one, have never taken off an IC chip. I fugured that the valuable ones, the ones on higher end boards would be discounted if I took them off and that the ones from low-end boards were not worth messing with. I probably need to revisit this strategy.
If you tear apart your low grade baords like some of us do. Meaning popping of aluminum and the CBM's. It only takes a couple more seconds to take a 1 inch wood chisel and a hammer and pop off them IC chips. Then just throw them in a 5 gallon bucket and wait for it to fill up. Granted I only do ths with the ones that are bigger than say the size of a penny. But they are adding up.
