I wouldn't pay extra $5 bucks for two cords, they aren't worth that kind of money IMO. I'd also only pay maybe a buck a piece.

Depends on the end, some monitor ends are gold plated.

End + cord can be a decent chunk of scrap

Cord end is worth around $1.00 to $1.50 a pound based on who is buying (I need to get a price check on this item....) The cord it self is data cord and is around one pound some are less others alittle more. Data cords are selling for $1.35 avg and $1.60 high (high price if you have half ton or more)

    Thanks Easy,

Ill make sure i save up my cords.

I had 3 monitors this weekend. Two had 6ft cords one had a 15 foot cord. I thought it was kind of bizarre as that's the longest cord I've ever seen in 10 years of IT.

Yes that is very odd. Most times they are only a 2 to 3 feet long.

I didn't know this. I have only ever seen silver colored ends that I assume are aluminum or coated brass. Of course, not knowing about this I never really looked that closely at them either. I'm still learning e-scrap and thought I knew everything to save from the towers and monitors but didnt' know about the cord ends.

You would be surprised on what the naked eye can see when examining things more closely.

Last week when I was at the scrap yard, I almost threw off $40 of cast aluminum, and some motors that at first didnt look to be motors.

That is why I always care my portable magnet on a key chain. I inspect everything, and now will be breaking things down 100% versus what I was doing before.
