    What are these chips and ho do I remove them?

    yeah, I would say "if it's soldered on, don't remove it" but that really only pertains to motherboards. Other mid-grade boards seem to be different. I had contacted my buyer from here about some mid-grade boards and they said that if I removed copper type items, like relays, it would be considered high mid-grade.
    My rule of thumb is if it's soldered, ask before removing. nothing worse than finding out your loosing money while working.

    just in my opinion.
