    Any of these worth anything.

Bought a lot from a former IT guy today. 8 desktops and 4 laptops along with boxes of accessories. cables, power adapters, ram, gold finger cards, switchers and more some still in boxes. Most of it was win 95 and older stuff but there was also some newish stuff. Here are the desktops the first 3 are the newish ones and seem to still work all booted with one beep but I need to put a hard drive in them to test further. They will be parted out. Didnt even bother trying to boot the old ones

Dell Dimension 4600. Pentium 4 Machine
Dell XPS 200. Pentium D machine. Tiny thing
Dell XPS 600. MASSIVE. Guessing its a full ATX board but haven't looked in it yet.

    And the old guys
    3 Dell optiples GM 5133
    Dell optiplex 466 MTE
    Poweredge 2100/180

Dell Inspiron 2650. Pentium 4 can hear it boot but the back-light on the screen is out.Can just barley see outlines
Dell lLatitude 450 MCX. Win 95
    Dell Latitude P-1335t. Win 95

Don't know much about the Dimension or XPS. Do you know what operating system they had? Definitely save the product keys off the boxes

This product key, if it exists, is the generic product key that Microsoft allowed your PC builder to use when mass producing computers. In other words, everyone's disc has the same product key. Your unique key for use when reinstalling Windows will be the one on the sticker on your computer.

Didn't see any product keys on them. I think they were XP machines but the HD's have been wiped.

Just went and looked and they all have the product key on them. The dimenson has Xp home which I have a disk for but both xps have media center which I do not have a disk for.

Went ahead and broke the old ones down. Got a few brown ceramic intels and some silver/tin ram. The power edge was the real winner. Gold top pentium pro and the only one with gold finger ram.

I have found that for desktops that if its not a p4 3.0 ghz or higher machine then it not worth rebuilding and reselling. You should be able to fetch around $80 to $150 for these machines depending on how much ram and hard drive space are in there. As far as laptops go. If its P3 or newer I send them to ROK he pays pretty good for machines with good screens. Dont get me wrong I have rebuilt a couple laptops here and there for family members and friends but dont deal with them a whole lot.

The 3 newer ones I think are all P4 machines. Not sure of processor speed until I get an OS on them. The dell laptop works great just needs the vga chip reflowed. When it warms up it gets a little funky. Gonna fix and keep this on to have in the truck

Hammer, you can run the BIOS setup utility at boot-up to determine the specs on your unit(s). There should be a prompt that will come on during booting that tells you which function key you'd need to press to access it.

LOL Didn't even think of that. Go the Dimension up and running just need the VGA and Etrenet drivers. Its a 2.6ghz P4 with 2 512 sticks of ram in it.

Bear, Same way you would re flow any chip. Just basically re liquify the solder holding it to the board.
