    You are translating it wrong. $1/lb of brass got $5, so had 5 pounds of brass. $1.50/lb of CU#1 got $4.50, so had 3 pounds of CU#1.



    Around me the al cans generally go for a few cents more than sheet al, but not always as it depends on which yard I go to.
