Im in Brooklyn NY, near Coney Island. Not sure what constitutes a shredder yard, they have some sort of machine that they use to shred clean ferrous scrap into what the owner told me was called No. 2 shredded scrap, and any appliances or things with too much contamination(Chairs with wood seats, unstripped microwaves, low grade electronics and printers etc) go in another pile and they sell it like that without any further processing. They then load up it all up into a semi truck and bring it to somewhere in Jersey if I'm correct.
