Well the yard should be good for this. If they dont want to cover the fee ask them for 20 lbs copper scrap!

I'm thinking they are going to handle it. I'm a regular there and they know my face. Heck, they don't even ask for my id anymore.

Well I would go to the scrap yard talk to the manager only, be as low key as you can. He should give you the cash for the check plus the charges, tell him you will bring back the check after you bring back the cash to the check cashing store. The Worst thing for a scrap yard is for the world to go around there money is no good. After you get it all straighten out find you self a new yard, they issued the check knowing that it was no good, believe me they knew, Good luck! How much was the check for?

It was a tiny $104, if I have to eat the $30 fee, no problem, but I do expect them to cover their portion.
