UPDATE:

Finally met the guy at a local BBQ joint that my father in law and his band play at last Friday. We talked for about an hour or so. The guy is super crazy, but in a good way. Very laid back and chilled.

Apparently the county has no bearing on the situation. The land belongs to his gf, and her father passed away, and left it all to her. So they want to get rid of all the "junk" and use the monies to help spruce up the farm to what it used to be way back when.

The guy told me that if he had to guess, he would say there is easily over 500,000 lbs of metal, aluminum, steel, farm equipment, copper, brass, you name it. Great thing is, is that he has equipment on the farm and in place to crush anything that needs to be crushed, and pickup anything that needs picked up and laid on a trailer.

The guy informed me that if it wasn't for what they wanted to do with the monies, they would give me a better deal than 50/50. I told him that since he has equipment on side to crush and pick up stuff, and only having me there, then I am cool with a 50/50 split. Plus, the way I see it, even if everything was sold for pure shred price, at the current price for me, I would still easily make over $18,000...but considering there is tons of aluminum, brass, copper, farm equipment, I am looking at more than that.

I have a few sources that will buy any and all farm equipment at above scrap prices from me, and God only knows what else is there.

We are trying to set something up for one day this week for me to come out, scope it all out, and begin the work.

Since we both work full time, I am waiting on a day for him to be available to show me the property and all the items I am authorized to take. Then from there, it will be a sweet, sweet surprise.

Although, for this job, I might use my father in laws pickup, instead of mine, since his is a dually, and more than capable of hauling very heavy loads.
