Good topic. I have a mountain of aluminum and motors in the garage along with a 55 gal of copper. Along with a trailerful of ferrous. My wife was confused at first but understands there is value in everything I've stashed. I do not hoard but generally have somethings laying around.

Perhaps leaving your yards info on the fridge or some simple directions on what to do in case the unforseen happens. as silly as it may seem; if you have enough value in your stash state it in your will. Or, at least, verbalize This may be helpful to those you leave behind. Especiallyif you don't have life insurance or savings.
