Haven't posted in ages but I'm still here reading amd checking in. I don't think I've bought a vehicle in since spring time. Guys here still buying cars for $300+ and I'm at 65/ton CDN. (50/ton USD). No idea how they're making money, even if they part them out. They must be sick in the head. Not even gonna bother. I've completely stopped buying cars until prices bounce back, which I don't expect them to for a while.

Hell even the curb shoppers have quit. Big steel garage door has been sitting at my neighbors for 3 days. I ain't gonna bother for the $2 I'll get.
If I didn't have bad luck, I'd have no luck at all...

I used to see trucks and car hauler trailers out and about all day long.. every day.. I saw a guy hauling one the other day and thought "Holy crap.. there is one" Then I realized it wasn't junk.. looked to be hauling it to either move it or have it repaired.
I'm so into scrapping.. When my Steel Toe Boots Wear out, I cut the Steel out of them and recycle the Toe!

Yeah the only good thing about lower prices is that it gets the clowns out of the game!

Same here Sledge, but if I see a running car at an insurance auction for awfully cheap, I'll snatch it up and sell parts on car-part.com. It's my best resource for selling more expensive parts like transmissions and motors.

I own two garages and a budding salvage yard. The shops were inherited, so, I sell parts through the shop, but, I'm pretty hands off so far as the actual management.

Still sitting at $35.00 a ton
Been a long time but somehow I scored 2 cars from 1 guy >> I paid him $90.00 each because they both had aluminum rims
I did not sit the first car on the nose of the Red Escort because I might be able to sell the Escort as a complete unit
It runs and drives and looks decent inside and out

In other news >> I received a message from my CAT guy on Thursday >>
Hi John, Not sure what # to call you on. The platinum market is down to 873 this morning from 911 yesterday. I have already been told cats will be dropping at least $5 next week. I suggest we buy your cats tomorrow. Let me know. Thanks

So I set up to sell him my Cats today at noon >> Most times my average is in the high Sixty's
Todays average was a dismal $46.87 for 95 Cats with a payout of $4453.00
It did NOT help that 12 of those 95 were After Market @ $3.00 each

It's been my experience, that if a car is running I can get $1000 or better.
That's where iam though. Maybe different where you are.
