    Iv'e recently purchased 150 O2 sensors from scrap medical supply.
    Ended up with 1.2g Pt and about 50g of gold plated pins... Do the math, this is from a very high end products. "

    I "assumed" he was referring to automotive O2 senors. What are O2 sensors from the medical indutry? Mike

    I know, his post was reffering to car's O2 sensors, my point is, that even for medical uses in machines like CPAP, O2 concentrators etc'.. (which must be very reliable), the sensors don't bring that much in the way of platinum.
    They have heavy gold plated assembly pins, lead wires (from pins to pad) made of pure Platinum and a ceramic pads (the sensing thingy) laced with Platunum as well.
