How much of the stuff we used to take for granted would be there (like wedding albums) in the future (unless there was a flood, fire or such disaster) will be there x number of years down the road?? I suspect that more will be lost than people think...Most people won't (aren't able) to be archivists. Sure, digital storage units might get thrown in a box and then re-opened several decades later but will there be machine that can read old obsolete media?? Hardy copies remain ( I have 130 year old pixs of my mom's dad up on my shelf) and can always be scanned. Let's see how much of the current digital age really remains half a century from now...
