I don't deal with cars as you know, but Sledge I think you answered part of that discussion with your own post.

Don't be afraid to walk away, an let'm know you'l be there when if they don't find a fool to part with that kinda money..minus the fool part..

Just my advice. It works for me in a lot of transactions with computers and other things I buy. It also works for pawn shops, thats how they can get people to take 30 bucks on a item worth 300. Don't be held hostage, an as my wife says...smile an mean it. Be nice, but firm.

The results I've listed work for me, an me alone, I in no way claim this will work for you, and I'm not responsible for any lost business coming from this post.

For sure sir scrap, never be afraid to walk away from a losing battle. And most of these "500$" for your junker ads are crap! Yeah they'll give you 500 for a 2008 or later car that's it ! Otherwise they'll offer a couple hundred tops for any other car like a normal person would. I hear people cry bout how much they have dumped into a money pit, well I hate for you but doesn't make it worth a dime more to me. And the "I could part it out for x amount" yes that might be true but how long is that gona take ?! A year ? Two ? Three ? And if there is x amount worth of parts there, would I pay you x ? So I can pull parts, store them, and go to the trouble of marketing them for free ? I dont run a charity here, Im out here to make money just like you. Anyone who's worked around salvage yards knows 95% of cars are crushed with less than half of the parts sold off of it. Most of these people with the "parting it out" theory are unaware of these facts and dont have the first clue about "parting it out" actually involves. Ive got parts I've pulled Probadly 5 years ago, after all the time I spent pulling them and storing them, doesn't look so gravy does it ?
