I have a set of 4 of axle straps I picked up at my trailer shop. They are invaluable! I also carry (6) 27'-2" Wide, 3,333lb rated Tie Downs on my rig, I can secure the car at 4 points as well as run a strap over the hood and the trunk and strap them to my pocket stakes, If ever that trailer became airborne for some reason, the car is all but bolted down to the trailer, if you shake the car- you shake the trailer.

I also, like you cory, use the "hook ends" instead of the flat hook ends, in a pinch you can get the hood ends into a hole in the frame or the manufactures hooks they place on vehicles, where the flat hook ends are too wide to do so.

For pulling vehicles onto my trailer- I use a set-up similar to what joef1812 showed, I have a set of 15" G70 "J-Hooks" that hook at the front or back axle and winch whatever I need up onto my rig.

I'm so into scrapping.. When my Steel Toe Boots Wear out, I cut the Steel out of them and recycle the Toe!
