    it being an old Ford engine, I think i would remove the alt and starter ( like you said ) and then scrap it whole. If it had been a newer motor out of a 4 cylinder i think i would at least check the head(s) for aluminum. However, if the motor runs, i would probably try to use it. I have been trying to locate a free running engine, to try to build a small saw mill, to mill my own lumber.
