    My yard had no problems taking the flyback transformers for the longest time but now that things are tight, they refuse to buy them or the fans from computers.

    you can get shred for them can't you?
    they both got downgraded here, now classified as computer scrap at $.05/lb last time I was there.. a little better than shred at least.
