    New Topic Areas - Suggestions

As time goes on we add more functionality, make improvements, and add new sections of the forum. Typically we'd come up with a few popular topics we see and post a poll seeing how many of you are interested, but we might get some interesting ideas having you post your suggestions for new sections instead before we even do a poll.

So feel free to reply in this thread with any suggestions you might have for new sections/topics for the forum. This thread can run indefinitely.

As you may know, we have a few sections of the forum that were the result of suggestions from our members, your feedback is important and welcomed.

Looking forward to seeing what ideas pop up.

Maybe a section on heating and cooling recycling. It's seems like there are more and more refrigerator questions all the time.

Sub groups for each state so we can work out logistics easier. I know we have one for buyers in state but a place for the locals to talk would be nice.

Are you talking a section for general scrap talk but a local discussion to connect and discuss things either specific to your area or with people from your area? I'm not entirely sure what you mean but I'm picturing a general section with a prefix for each state you'd choose before you post.

I like this idea. A general section for states. May help to organize people with local buyers.

I think a thread where we can post any tips on potential purchases or jobs we may run across that, say I can't handle b/c its 9 states away, but post it on here and maybe another member could pick it up?

Your idea of the prefix is spot on and the sections would contain both elements of the questions that you asked.

Maybe a section for rules/regulations and laws passed or to be passed for scrapping in various states, people can then discuss those there instead and those wishing to stay ignorant or simply don't like talking about new laws 'promising' the demise of regular scrappers needn't read.

Maybe put the new beginners section at the very top of the forum page (above the buyers and sellers/ removal ad section) so it's in plain sight and people newer people will notice it

if we know about pending laws that affect us for the worse then we can take appropriate actions sooner than later, IE:contacting the appropriate congress men/women or others. so a section on laws sub section for passed and pending would be great.

I wouldn't mind seeing a for sale section. I know we have a section for buyers and sellers, and people post items there sometimes, but I would rather have a non public section (no crawling) section to post items in for members. If I have 2000 lbs of romex to sell, I'd rather not announce it to the world.

Great idea! Wouldn't mind having a place on here to buy and sell trailers, trucks, etc.

    Non public = paid membership.

A how to use the forum, section specifically?

We wouldn't create section just for how to post pics and videos, however a forum regarding how to use the forum would be helpful.

A sticky explaining the common acronyms used. It was weeks before I finally found someone define CBM. I figured it had to do with copper, but acronymfinder.com doesn't have it.

    Cool

How about a section for guys that do curbside pick-up or bulk day pick-ups?
For alot of guys thats their only way to get started into scrapping.
I know we still do it from time to time.
    Just a thought.......
