    Motherboards without CPU chip?

I have take a few of these apart, and just thinking... Are they worth CPU Chip, or What category?

Basically they are like a gold fingered slot card, but encased in a plastic case with heat sink attached. The do have IC card that is similar in size to a CPU chip.

I am just confused about where these end up in a sorting pile.

This is called a slot processor. Keep them seperated. I think they fetch close to RAM prices per pound.

Over here they go as High Grade board, at like 1/2 the RAM price...

    **** local buyers LOL!

Easy to strip, but I haven't had any to process for a while...

P.S I have broken down some P-III servers, and they are a larger version of the same style of processor.

The only difference (in terms of materials) is the processor unit, PII cpu can yield 0.1-0.3 grams of pure gold per unit where the PIII will probably yield just a few miligrams.
    But you probably know that.

There are other PM's in most CPU's such as Ag and Pd, but i never bothered to assay them. Someday, maybe...
