    Made From Scrap - CONTEST!

    MADE FROM SCRAP - CONTEST
    Winner gets a $30 Amazon.com gift card!

Starting now, we're running the official "Made From Scrap" contest here at ScrapMetalForum.com!

We wanted to do something fun and interesting that any scrap metal guy or gal can be a part of and have some creative fun with!

The Concept - The Made From Scrap contest

Long story short, to enter the contest you need to make something from scrap, and upload your pics!

It could be anything, a tool, a decoration, a toy, an accessory, a sculpture, a robot or whatever etc. There is no limit but your imagination here, nothing is too big, too small, too simple or too complex.

    The Rules and Requirements

1 - You must be a registered member of the forum to upload your pics to this thread. Any registered member of the forum can submit what they made from scrap. If you're not a member of the forum and want to be a part of the contest, you can register here for free.

2 - It must be something YOU made yourself, from scratch, from scrap, for this contest.

3 - To prevent 'cheating' and picture stealing, you must reference this forum in your picture with a piece of paper or a note (or spray paint maybe) to be eligible for the gift card. All it has to say is "ScrapMetalForum.com". You could write "ScrapMetalForum.com" with a marker on a piece of paper or a post-it note and hold it up next to your 'thing', or tape it to it when you take the picture.

4 - You can submit as many 'made from scrap' items as you want, but of coarse it only one will win the contest.

The Deadline and Picking the Winner

The deadline ends on July 4th 2013. All 'Made From Scrap' submissions made before that date are eligible to win the contest.

Hope you have fun with this, I can't wait to see what you can come up with.
The creator of the thing-a-majig chosen as the 'Made From Scrap' winner will be sent the claim code for the digital Amazon gift card valued at $30 via PM or via email which can be added to your Amazon.com account and used towards a purchase. Maybe get yourself a new wire stripper?

Below I added a few attachments of some examples I found of 'things' made from scrap.

    Good luck!

ATTENTION READERS! - All Made From Scrap contest entries have been moved into their own threads in the new Made From Scrap category in the Metal Shed section. http://www.scrapmetalforum.com/made-from-scrap/

Just a thought, but wouldn't it be much better and more fun and fair to have this be voted on by the forum members?

Re-cycler...I sincerely hope you didn't scrap that arrow in the back of your rig in one of your pics. That thing will probably bring a couple hundred bucks on CL or Ebay. Twice that if you rewire it and add some bulbs.

I still have it and enough of the original bulbs to more than fill all the sockets, the existing wiring is still good to go.
It was just one part of a liquor store highway sign that blew over in a storm years ago.
There are a couple people that ask me about it now and then............I just smile and tell them to show me the money.

That one has been around here for a few years and has been re-plated only once when it started getting holes from .22 mag hits in the same spots.
I'm doing one now specifically for 1911 .45 cal. that a friend custom builds for select clients.......mostly law "enfarcement" agents.
I will try 1/2 inch or thicker plate to start out with and may have to use some harder thicker steel for the swing arm.
I've been thinking about bullet traps for a long time but most small caliber just splatter and spray when they hit that 1/4 inch target and the big bore stuff go through or tear the target off the arm.

Why do the aluminum ones go slower than the glass?

If you drop a rear earth magnet down a copper pipe the copper makes a magnetite field causing the magnet to slow down dramatically. I suspect the same thing happens with aluminum.

Hey, thanks for the info, admin. I have a question: I am already busy in creating my submission scrap , but I was wondering... The problem is that I have already begun the project, so I cannot really submit a "before" image of the materials. I can however submit a like picture of the materials I have used in this project--would this be good enough? Thanks very much for your time!

its not scrap metal, but tecnically it is scrap. All items used were considered garbage at one point.

yes! they take up less space than round buckets. I used to buy only that cat litter for a while just to have the buckets.
