Something interesting I found while hitting up the thrift stores.

Ok, so ya'll know my love of all things thrift stores. Thought I'd share this with you folks, cause..it's kinda cool.



These aren't mine, as I only found one. It's a pic tho of the exact one I got. Didn't have a camera handy so just went with a google image. They were made by the Coppercraft Guild of Tauton, MA. I paid a whopping .50 cents for this sucker at one of the thrift stores here on the sandbar. An for those who are going to ask if I'm going to scrap it..yea..no. lol. It's a pretty cool piece, all copper, even the back side of it. It's made to look brass, but it's all copper.

I did do a little research on it far as more then scrap value an the average I'm seeing is from 18 to 25.00. That's from eBay an several other sites. I don't think I'll be selling it, it's just a cool, old item.



Anyways, thought I'd share, not every day I come across stuff like this. I've included the link to Tandy, which owned the CopperCraft guild back in the 70s, for those that would like more info, tho it's limited to a tiny blurb.

Nice find Sir...I also have a collection of copper pans, bread box and misc that was cheap enough to sell as scrap but just couldn't bring myself to. Something about that color even if your not a scrapper.

That really is a nice find !! I know the feeling, I also found a couple copper item in a sale for under a $1 and could not find it in myself to scrap them either, so there they sit on the window sill in the kitchen.

Nice find! I also love the thrift stores. There is one near me in Santa Cruz where everything is almost always half price. I found several pairs of designer jeans there for about 4 bucks each and a beautiful vintage pewter pitcher for $1!

Yes..thrift stores are awesome, I can't say it enough. Between the ones I have as clients, an just plain shopping at..I usually end up leaving happy.

Heck I've re-collected vhs tapes..over 75 of them..at .10 a pop..lol.

This reminds me of the of the TV show "Monk" where the main character would do something silly and then would say "you'll thank me later". I have watched every episode and no one ever thanked him. I would not be waiting on that thank you. Mike.

shhhhhhhhh!!! stop talking about thrift stores. Now everyone is going to know that they can download the coinflation app that tells you scrap gold and sterling silver values by weight and get some amazing deals. Or how you can use the ebay app to enter in all information on a brass, copper or sterling item and see how much over scrap/ melt it is worth. shhhhhhhh!!!
