No I was able to strip all the wire except very small stuff, 20 ga. and smaller. You might consider setting up a way to use an angle grinder to cut through the thick and hard insulation. It would save you the cost of buying the striper for this one job. I did that once on some large Al wire that had hard insulation that would not stripe with a knife, it was before I had the striper.
