It Should be noted That I didnt order a lift gate so i would recieve a cheaper rate as I planned on stacking it myself. However, The truck that was dispatched to my location Had a lift gate so I got lucky I guess and didnt have to stack it myself and didnt have to pay an additional $50.
For those who are considering shipping pallets rather and boxes via Fedex etc these are important considerations being discussed in this thread.
In my case I have one dock in town with no ramp for the forklift to come down to the parking lot to lift a pallet off my pick up truck. So I have to build the pallet on the dock lifting the small boxes onto the dock by hand.
I could pay for lift gate service where I would have to build the pallet in the street in front of my house
In the past I have been able to use a dock and forklift that a friend has at his business but its located over an hour away. Shipping can be stressful for me. Mike
