Whenever we do a Cleanout and there are trash cans to be disposed of I keep them for sorting. I actually have too many cans at the moment.

But what I really like are the lidded recycle bins! Extremely durable, a convenient size, and stackable.

Mine don't, I'm talking about curbside recycle bins used for curbside pickup. Around here they don't make them with wheels.

I've been breaking down in a backroom of the house, tossing the shred into trash barrels, to haul back out behind the barn, and tossing the rest into 5 gallon buckets

Check with pool service companies in your area... they have 10 gallon buckets they get chlorine tabs in. They rinse them out & throw them away by the dozens. I find that 10G buckets are better for my copper. A bit heavier, but that's the point!

Thats understandable, just think you could find someplace to stockpile copper and why not to help cut down on your trips which would cost you less to haul the same amount. Even cutting your trips in half you'd notice a considerable decrease in your expenses

I'll be getting trailer the 1st of the year. That will help a lot. The scrapyard i use is less then 2 miles from my house. And i scrap in the same hood as the yard.
So i go past it 2-3 times a day. If ther is not a line i go in even if all i have is 200 lb's Just to keep the truck empty.

13 trips is like 5000 pounds of steel in a small truck

384 pounds per trip $38.40 seems right
