    Hypoman, thanks for "looking out" for us Left Coast folks However, in my case, living just N of SFO, it would be one heck of a long round trip.
    Luckily, my yard has a special e-waste dept. They take CRT/TVs @ 5c/lb in large amounts, as long as you can furnish them with a "contact" name/tele # of the place you obtained them from.
    For one to three units, they'll take them with no questions asked, BUT, you will get a phone call from the place that my yard sends them to, just to confirm that the transaction took place.

    they probably need a paper trail for one or more of the permits or certifications that they have
