    I've never sold cats before and haven't really read a lot about them but if the catalyst inside is mostly used up, do they not have any value? Or is it just a diminshed return type thing? I would hope that even if some was missing it would still hold some value.

    Yes, you are paid on the amount of honeycomb material still inside the housing.
