I have been reading a lot here. Already have a bucket with ribbon cable ends in it thanks to a post here about real estate clean outs. Mentioned to a real estate friend I was into scrapping and she said she had 6 computers to get rid of. Turned out it was only 5 and 2 had been stripped of everything except the power supply, but they came with 6 CRTs, 6 printers, a bunch of other electronics, 2 vacuum cleaners, a flat screen tv and all free.

I do like the computers. I spotted 2 at an auction, but they got sold in with a truck load of other crud I wasn't interested in. So I asked the buyer if he wanted them. Wound up getting both for $6. He mentioned he had stripped 300 computers and the yard would only pay $0.05 per pound for the boards so he had a 55 gal drum full of them. Told him I would buy them and gave him my phone number. That was OK, but I didn't carry it far enough. I didn't get his name or phone number so when he didn't call I had no way to pursue it farther. Live and learn.
