I have a lot of fluorescent bulbs which have mercury in them I'm told. The local landfill won't take them if you just try to bring them in, yet I see them in the roadside trash all the time. I don't want to put them the landfill and have the mercury end up in the water eventually. So I'm kind of stuck with them for now.

Thanks, I'm thinking I'm going to have to take them to CIncinnati or Lexington, Ky on a hazardous waste day.

    Fluorescent bulbs

There are a couple Free collection sites for Fluorescent bulbs in our area. There is also a county directory on where to dispose of different items. Have you tried a google search on Fluorescent Disposal in your area?

Yep, thanks for the information but nothing is close. I'm going to have to take them to a site out of town probably.
