    Gas Grills

One of the best and easiest items I find on garbage day is Gas Grills. The tops and bottoms are usualy cast aluminum and fairly heavy the controls and connections are brass and the gas tubes are usually stainless steel. They take about 10-15 minutes to strip down and I usally get about $10-15 per grill at current prices.

They are usually a fairly dirty strip job, but go fast.

I need someone to help strengthen my resolve. There are TWO grills by the curb tonite, just a few streets away. One is gas and the other I think was charcoal. I didn't grab them, bc my husband hates my scrapping hobby, and would be upset with my for bringing those huge things home. I could probably sneak out tonite and wrestle them here, but he hates me putting dirty things in his SUV.

They are pretty heavy and even if I sneak them here, it will be a lot of work to do alone.

    I think I need a different husband.

Should I go out and grab them anyway?

My wife never openly objected to my scrapping, but somewhere along the way I started mentioning to her "that (scrap) is a $10 bill just laying there." Now she likes to drive alley ways with me when we aren't in a hurry to get home.

I'm sure there are a lot of men on here that would love to have a wife that enjoys scrap as much as they do lol
Currently looking for a job in or related to scrap/recycling. Relocation is possible for the right offer.

You need your own pickup truck. Then, you can cruise, grab & scrap.
Maybe hubby will want to ride with you!

I did sneak over, but wasn't able to get either into the back of the SUV. I took the grates off and a few other things I could remove quickly. I'll need to grab my trailer to actually bring those over, and will have to talk hubby into helping. Both grills are massive and too heavy for me to lift by myself.

I want all that aluminum! There are nice big stainless doors under one of them, too.

Trash pickup is Monday morning, so I still have some time, if I can convince hubby to let me put those in the yard. He thinks my hobby is 'white trash'. He's pretty much a neat freak.

I do need a pickup. I want something reliable, though. I've had nothing but trouble with my Jeep Cherokees (I have two that I'm giving up on repairing, and am trying to sell).

It's strange that I am the scrapping, camping, boating one, and he's the computer geek.

What's the blue heeler's name? I like the two-toned eyes. Can we take him scrapping with us?

LOL Good stuff. Match.com has nothing on this forum. Your Hubby needs to know that Metal + MONEY!!! My wife grabs stuff for us every chance she can. Tell him "Couples who scrap together, STAY together" and eventually locked up and fined together, but that's not important right now.

Hopefully he comes around but in the mean time, keep on scrapin'!

One of the reasons I will be getting married next year is my Lady helps me scrap. She loves to look out at Curbco for stuff she can repurpose and help her friends out. She has been sober for nearly 7 years now and sees people trying to get back on their feet alot and some need furniture, a rug, or a dresser. I love the company and the extra set of eyes and its just good time we get to spend together with the dog in the bed of the truck and the backseat when it gets too full.

I prefer my truck to a van because sometimes you don't want to smell what your hauling .plus the rain cleans up some of the dirt, cob webs critters and other nastys I don't want in my cab .
