You won't get alot of advice on fingers, nor things about plating and whatnot because it is such a niche very few people know what they are talking about and those that do are wasting their time explaining. The way I figure it on my end is if the finger doesn't improve the grading or reduce it if I remove it, I will probably trim it, otherwise the actual labor spent on the endeavor is 100% pointless. Oh and $20 is a safe margin, it has to be, because the vast majority of cut fingers are from things other than memory sticks and finger cards...so it's a total crap shoot whether it will be quality material or if the plating is barely vapored on. I have run fingers just to put off $15/lb before chemical costs...it is not a winning proposition on smaller scales. Maybe if you were on a production line where it was just part of the process...or watching netflix in the garage while it snows outside, then it's no big deal.

I might as well add we do not remove fingers to any refinable board, leaving only the odd low grade and power boards for trimming. When you start trimming stuff and taking ICs and whatnot your just asking for the next round of prices available to you to go down a bit. Anywho...I'm off to bed.
