    motor rotors

    what kind of ali is on the rotor? i recently started to cut the ali ends off and am going to take them in seperate for ali price are they extrusion or cast? what about lead?

    ive tested about a half a dozen or so from various different types of motors and theyve all been cast, soft aluminum. (cast in/around steel)

    Yards around here only buy them as tin.....there is more steel than alu...so not worth it as dirty alu.

    i didn't know cast could be soft i thought soft ali was extrusion. i thought if it broke when hit with a hammer it was cast and if it didnt it was extrusion.
