Prices currently being paid for scrap steel

I am wondering if I was to scrap a load of appliances less wire, motors and misc parts and pieces and then later sell a load of scrap iron such as truck spindles should I get the same scrap price per pound or are the steel categories priced separately?. I think the yard I sell to has tried to lump everything in to one to save time since prices are so low. I think that would be good for them but not for the guy trying to survive the dive in scrap prices. I do know lately the guy has wanted to combine dirty and clean brass paying the same price for both. I declined to do so opting to hoard the stuff for a while and try then another yard.
