Question Time sensitive NiCd batteries, large volume.

Hi guys been a while. Yesterday a lady calls me up, says she works in the airline industry with between 15,000 and 20,000 lbs of nickle cadmium wet cell batteries from airline accessories made by Saft cooperation. Located in Austin area. My problem, I can't find any **** buyers. I've got feelers out, I'm looking through here, I'm blowing up google, calling everyone that says they take batteries only to find out they don't Jack with nicd batteries. Help, please!

See Mudlucky's 2/25/16 thread. One of our buyers said they were still buying gaylord quantities at 2 cents a pound. Not sure if they still are.

At $.02 a pound you can't afford to ship them out of Texas. Need a Texas buyer I would think

I just have to say a buyer not maintaining his website and offering no contact number might as well just not be in business

If you do find a good place to recycle the batteries then I would charge for the service. Don't sell yourself and your service short. Mike

If you can find a buyer for these, I'd love to know who it is.

    Best,

Alright...since you guys didn't see the original post...let me explain. WET CELL NICD is not a sealed dry cell rechargeable like standard tool and cordless phone batteries. In a aircraft they are the batteries used when the plane is not on shore power and/or for starting when not connected to a stationary turbine. They have steel cases, cadmium electrode, potassium hydroxide electrolyte and can only be stored in the upright position. These are a charge item...probably in the range of a dollar per pound. If you accept them free you are going to lose quite a lot of money and possibly be fined for possessing them in the first place without being stored or transported on secondary containment. Yanno what they say, 99 out a 100 it's nothing to worry about but that last one...that one will destroy your business.

    Example:
