After lurking and reading several threads, I realized that dealing privately and/or locally is sure to pay-off more than shipping my waste off to some company.
What forum was you reading this stuff, we have some of the best buyers around. and with 80-100lb of escrap plus monitors I'd be setting an appointment to deliver that load. That way you could see for yourself where the money is and how best to break it down. You have a couple of good buyers within a few hours driving distance.

The monitors are pretty much worthless as far as I can tell. My local recycle centers CHARGE $10/monitor.
    3) Really it comes down to shipping costs > waste value.
There is pro's and con's about breaking down CRT monitors, read up on them then make up your mind. What works for me may not work for you.
If you'd researched the monitors you'd find that the same buyers would pay you xxx a lb for flatscreens, more if they have their stands. Everything in a computer and other electronics pays something, even the cases.
All I can say more is wow,,,,,,,, (headshake)
