    Buying scrap fork lifts

Just was looking at some scrap unwanted fork lifts in a auction, and thought this would be a good buying tip for scrapers that might find them selfs running into this or a similar situation. How much does it weigh and what is the scrap value???? Well a little tip I have learned a few years ago is quite easy to remember. If the fork lift is ratted at a five thousand pound lifting capacity, it will weigh just around 5000 pounds, a ten thousand pound lifting capacity will weigh around 10,000 lbs so if you are getting 200.00 a net ton for steel (just a money example) and it's got a 10,000 lbs capacity your looking a five tons @ 200.00 a ton = $1000.00 or about scrap value hope it helps. Happy Scraping
