Today a scrapper stopped by my jobsite (what not to do).

Today while working on a total house remodel a fellow scrapper stopped by. He had heard from the electrician that we were removing the furnace and water heater/boiler. It is a big old "octopus" furnace. Probably easy ton of cast. Its in the basement, but its in the middle of the room. Eight foot ceilings. Six feet from the steps. So a fairly easy smash and haul, and although we scrap also, this is a really tight time frame. Water heater/boiler is right next to the furnace.
So I say "Its all yours." He responds by saying "Great. When you guys get it out, set the pieces by the curb and give me a call. I'll come by and get it."
Up the stairs and out the door he went. Needless to say I was dumbfounded.
I know! Maybe we could load it in our trucks and drive it to the scrap yard for him and he could just stop by and grab the check. Man wouldn't that be nice.(satire)
So he lost out on the furnace and water heater/boiler.
Just had to relate this little story.
P.S It was all unhooked from ducting, gas and plumbing.
